A year after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University, several prominent right-wing influencers who spoke out in his defence have faced a wave of death threats from leftwing agitators. Figures including Benny Johnson, Laura Loomer and Robby Starbuck have all reported being targeted, with prosecutors now pursuing charges against multiple individuals accused of sending explicit threats. Utah prosecutors are separately seeking the death penalty against Tyler Robinson, the 23-year-old charged with Kirk's murder, while Kirk's death appears to have done little to calm the surrounding political hostility.

Johnson received a graphic threatening letter at his Florida home, allegedly sent by 69-year-old George Isbell Jr, who now faces a federal charge. Loomer was targeted with anti-Semitic threats on X, reportedly from 28-year-old Nicholas Ray, who has been charged with 12 counts in Florida including terroristic threats. Starbuck, who blames false claims made by Google's AI chatbot for provoking threats against him, is suing the company for at least $15 million after a Delaware judge allowed the case to proceed in July. Separately, an LA podcaster was indicted last week for threatening to kill President Trump and publishing a lawyer's home address.
