American Film Market Plans New Global Screen Economy Summit For This Year
The American Film Market (AFM) will launch a half-day Global Screen Economy Summit on 10 November, as part of an expanded programme focused on changes to how films and other content are financed, made and found by audiences. The event reflects an industry reshaped by consolidation, artificial intelligence and the creator economy, while independent film companies continue to use the market for business and dealmaking.
The 47th AFM runs from 10 to 15 November at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles and will feature more than 45 sessions. Keynotes are planned from IFTA chief Jackie Brenneman and analyst Evan Shapiro, alongside discussions on a proposed US production incentive, independent film financing, audience discovery, new studio models and the horror market. Other sessions will cover emerging platforms, cinema programming such as anime and concerts, and AI.
