Dark comedy The Audacity satirises Silicon Valley’s power struggles and ambitions

The Guardian ·

The Audacity is a dark comedy about wealthy Silicon Valley executives, using the power struggles and sharp satire of Succession to examine the people shaping the tech industry. Creator Jonathan Glatzer says the show takes aim at the sector’s male-dominated culture, its environmental costs and the unchecked ambitions of its leaders.

Billy Magnussen plays Duncan Park, a data analytics founder worth about $500 million who wants to join the billionaire elite; Zach Galifianakis plays tech billionaire Carl Bardolph. The series also jokes about algorithmic hiring, data collection and the energy demands of generative AI. Its second season was commissioned before the first had aired.
