Taiwan-Japan Film Fund Daily Capital Launches at Tokyo Market, Backs Period Romance ‘Love Ends in Bloom’
Daily Capital, a new fund for Taiwan-Japan film and television co-productions, launched at the Tokyo International Film Festival market. It aims to raise NT$100 million (about US$3.1 million) and back at least five projects in its first two years, using partnerships between the countries to help reach audiences beyond Japanese- and Mandarin-speaking markets.
The fund has secured 70% of its fundraising target and expects to start operating by the end of 2026. Its first announced investment is *Love Ends in Bloom*, a 10-episode historical romance and business drama set in 1930s Taiwan; filming is scheduled to begin in February 2027, with a mid-2028 release targeted. Founder Chang Chen-yu says investments will generally begin during development or pre-production, with capital recovery targeted within three years.
