Desert Age Documentary 10th Anniversary Re-Release: See Photos of Kyuss, Black Flag, and More
The 2016 documentary *Desert Age: A Rock and Roll Scene History* will receive a 10th anniversary re-release on 20 November, celebrating the bands and people who shaped California’s desert-rock scene. The special edition adds material about Black Flag’s historic 1981 Palm Springs show, including previously unseen photographs and new audio.
A premiere screening is scheduled for 7 November at Festival Theaters in Palm Springs, followed by a Q&A with musicians and the film’s director and producer. The documentary includes footage and interviews involving Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Fu Manchu and Eagles of Death Metal, among others; director Jason Georgiades says he built an extensive digital archive of desert-rock artefacts spanning roughly the mid-1970s to early 1990s. The re-release will be available from Jgeorgiades.com after the premiere.
