Nicolas Cage awkwardly backtracks claim sinkhole made him ‘homeless’ after backlash
Nicolas Cage has clarified that his description of himself as “a little bit homeless” referred to his Malibu home being unavailable for Halloween, not to being destitute. He said he had been “riffing” during a Comic Con interview and that he and his household were “content” and “fine”, after his wording drew criticism online.
Cage’s $10.5 million beachfront property was among five Malibu homes red-tagged after coastal erosion, high tides and surf damaged the area in September, prompting an evacuation order. He has reportedly been staying in hotels while seeking to protect the property, and received permission to place sandbags and carry out debris removal and soil sampling.
