RuPaul’s Drag Race UK crowns winner as BBC axes the series
Flesh won the eighth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, taking the crown and a £25,000 prize after a final challenge featuring a medley of girl-group anthems. The result comes as the BBC ends the programme, making this its final series on the broadcaster after it cited budget cuts and financial pressure.
The 26-year-old London queen reached the final alongside Mocha, Naya Thorn and Alik, and had never been in the bottom two before the finale. Last year’s winner and Flesh’s drag sister, Bones, crowned her; the franchise will continue on the production company’s Wow Presents Plus streaming platform. Paris Baby won the cast-voted Miss Congeniality title.
