Carson Daly, Laura Jarrett Ready to Launch ‘New Era’ at NBC’s ‘Saturday Today’

Carson Daly will join Laura Jarrett, Joe Fryer and meteorologist Angie Lassman as a co-anchor of NBC’s “Saturday Today”, which is beginning a new format aimed at weekend viewers. The change reflects broadcasters’ efforts to give weekend morning programmes a distinct identity and offer a more relaxed pace alongside news coverage.

Daly has been part of “Today” since 2013 and brings experience from hosting MTV’s “TRL”, NBC’s “Last Call” and “The Voice”, as well as conducting longer interviews. Jarrett, who joined “Today” in 2023 and is also NBC News’ senior legal correspondent, says the programme will continue to cover headlines and special reports. The launch comes as holiday viewing often broadens the show’s audience, with a possible look at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree’s arrival.
