All the evidence in the Tyler Robinson case as he faces death penalty for Charlie Kirk assassination

Daily Mail · 4 hours ago

Prosecutors in Utah have begun presenting evidence against Tyler Robinson, 23, at pre-trial hearings this week over the alleged assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Robinson is accused of shooting Kirk at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on 10 September 2025, and could face the death penalty if convicted. The case matters because it concerns the killing of a prominent public figure in front of a large crowd of students, and the hearings will determine whether there is sufficient evidence for the matter to proceed to trial.

Robinson was arrested 33 hours after the shooting when his parents reportedly recognised him from released images and turned him in; he has remained in custody since. On Tuesday, prosecutors showed previously unseen surveillance footage said to depict Robinson driving a Dodge Challenger around the campus and moving with an apparent limp towards a rooftop "sniper's perch" shortly before the shooting. They say further evidence will include DNA linking him to the weapon, autopsy findings, witness statements, additional surveillance, and messages he allegedly sent to his partner.
