A new guide for the multiplayer horror title Halloween: The Game sets out the various ways a Civilian player can escape Michael Myers without being killed. The guide explains that there is no single "best" escape route, as effectiveness depends on the situation, and recommends picking whichever method can be completed fastest given the resources to hand.

Each escape point can only be used by up to three survivors, including any rescued non-player characters, which limits how many people can flee via a given route. Players can also choose to simply survive until the night ends, though this is described as a riskier option that increases exposure to danger.

– Call the police by telephone once players have filled two and a half shields, either dialling themselves (risking a failed minigame) or asking residents to call; a wagon with two armed officers then arrives.
– Use Storm Cellars, which spawn at random locations but require tools to clear blocked entrances before anyone can escape through them.
– Use Outer Gates, similar to cellars but requiring a fuse to open; these reportedly have a very low spawn rate.
– Escape by car, which needs fuel, a Repair Kit and a Sedan Key, plus success in a minigame; crashing or a Blackout attack from Michael will fry the engine, requiring another repair.
