Anthropic takes on Muse with Claude Duet, its new AI agent

Developing story first seen 1 hour ago

The Verge ·

Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, an AI agent aimed at professionals and small business owners, positioning it against Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots. It can monitor connected apps, send a morning briefing and carry out tasks, with the aim of handling work across the day.

The research preview is built on Claude Opus 5.5 and is available through standalone iOS and Android apps and Claude on the web. It can do tasks from scheduling to creating dashboards, forecasts and web apps, and asks for approval before major actions such as payments or deletions. Anthropic says its safety system is designed to block requests to share highly sensitive information, but warns that Duet may misread messages or urgency and is less capable at personal errands; access requires a waitlist and a US Pro or Max subscription.

  • Anthropic launches Claude Duet as a research preview.
  • The agent monitors apps and takes on work tasks.
  • US Pro and Max subscribers can join the waitlist.
