Becky And The Birds – “Way Back To You”
Swedish singer, songwriter and producer Thea Gustafsson has released “Way Back To You” under her project name Becky And The Birds. The track combines rhythm and chopped vocal samples, continuing her left-of-centre, R&B-infused pop sound.
Gustafsson says the song began with drums, which is unusual for her, and was shaped by instinct. Written during California sessions with longtime collaborator Nick Velez, it explores longing for something seemingly out of reach while continuing to pursue it. Artist Ellen Nielsen created two minimalist music videos for the release.
