Bethesda has set out its future plans for its major franchises, following recent Xbox layoffs and studio divestments that had raised questions over the fate of its flagship series. The Elder Scrolls 6 remains the studio's top priority, with the majority of its team working on the game, though no release timeline was given and reports suggest it is still at least two years away.

Fallout 5 has been confirmed as being in preproduction but is not expected soon, given the focus on Elder Scrolls, while Obsidian Entertainment is separately working with Bethesda on an unspecified new Fallout project. Remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are also in development, following the success of last year's Oblivion Remastered, alongside a new Fallout 76 expansion, Raven Rock, arriving next year as a prequel to Fallout 3. Bethesda also confirmed that Starfield, played by more than 17 million people, will keep receiving updates, with new "Starborn" content planned for 2027, and that The Elder Scrolls Online will continue alongside closer collaboration between ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda Game Studios.

  • Elder Scrolls 6 remains Bethesda's top priority; still years away
  • Fallout 5 in preproduction; Obsidian working on separate new project
  • Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters, plus Fallout 76 and Starfield updates planned
