During the conversation with Collider's Steven Weintraub, Bird also discussed his forthcoming Netflix film "Ray Gunn", a retro-futuristic sci-fi noir that has been in development for decades and is set to premiere later this year. He reflected on formative career moments, including advice from Disney animation legend Milt Kahl, his work on "The Simpsons", the creation of Syndrome as the villain in "The Incredibles", and taking over "Ratatouille" mid-production, while also teasing possible projects beyond "Ray Gunn".
