‘Buena Vista Social Club’ Sets Broadway Closing; West End Production Announced For 2027

Buena Vista Social Club will close on Broadway on 17 January 2027, after 96 weeks and 767 performances. The musical’s run has earned five Tony Awards and a Grammy-winning cast album, while producers say it remains on schedule to recoup its reported $17 million investment.

The show began previews in February 2025 and opened the following month at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Its weekly takings have fallen from more than $1 million at their peak to $678,878 for the week ending 1 November, with attendance at 89% of capacity. Productions are also running on tour and in Puerto Rico and Mexico City, and a West End production is planned for 2027.
