Rolling Stone · 3 hours ago

Carly Simon has released ‘Peaches’, a new single from her forthcoming album Comes in Waves, shortly after publicly disclosing that she has Parkinson’s disease. The song’s themes of bodily and emotional limitations give added resonance to her health update, while marking a return to new music from the veteran singer-songwriter.

‘Peaches’ follows the lead single ‘Howl’ and precedes Comes in Waves, due on 14 August. It will be Simon’s first album in almost 20 years, since 2009’s Never Been Gone; it was produced by Paul Samwell-Smith and includes appearances by her children Ben and Sally Taylor. The 82-year-old also said recent Parkinson’s symptoms and treatment for facial basal cell carcinoma had contributed to her stepping back from public life.
