CDC warns of Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeños
A multistate Salmonella outbreak affecting hundreds of residents has been traced to contaminated jalapeño peppers distributed nationwide. The CDC identified produce originating from Mexico's Sinaloa region as the source of illness in 345 individuals across 27 states.
The peppers were supplied through Coast Citrus Distributors. The outbreak resulted in 36 hospitalisations, though no deaths have been reported in connection with the contamination.
