Explained simply
The Para Cycling Track World Championships bring together cyclists who compete in different classes, based on how their impairment affects their riding. The C4 class is for riders with eligible impairments; the 1km event is a timed race on an indoor track.
Kadeena Cox is a British para-cyclist and a five-time Paralympic champion. The championships also feature tandem events, where a visually impaired cyclist rides with a sighted pilot, and pursuit races, in which riders race over a set distance. Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the leading finishers in each event.
