Dusted – “Black Tattoo”
Brian Borcherdt, best known as a member of Toronto dance-rock band Holy Fuck, has released “Black Tattoo”, a new single under his solo project Dusted. The track was recorded live with Alex Edkins of Metz and Weird Nightmare on guitar, and its loose, accelerating performance reflects the tension between control and abandon that Borcherdt describes.
The song was recorded to vintage Tascam 388 equipment without click tracks. After several takes sped up progressively, the first was chosen by the band. A video directed by Michael Leblanc follows Borcherdt and his daughter through Toronto subway tunnels; Dusted is also scheduled to play two Toronto shows with Weird Nightmare on 18 and 19 November.
