Dutch police have arrested a 24-year-old Amsterdam man on suspicion of involvement with the ShinyHunters cybercrime group. The arrest has drawn attention to the February breach of Dutch telecoms company Odido, which the group claimed, but police have not said whether the suspect was involved in that attack or any other specific incident.

The suspect is due to appear before Rotterdam District Court. Police said the Odido breach affected 6.2 million customers and began after a caller posing as an IT colleague persuaded a customer service worker to provide access to an internal system; a public appeal about the call generated 20 tips. Reuters reported the arrest took place on 15 September and that flashbangs were used, while ShinyHunters has denied a link to the person named in news reports.
