Elgin James Developing Drama Series ‘King Of Ashes’ Based On Novel By S.A. Cosby At FX

Elgin James is developing a television adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s novel *King of Ashes* for FX, with Amblin, Higher Ground and 20th Television. The project brings together established production partners and a director currently working on a new *Prison Break* series.

The Southern Gothic crime drama follows Roman Carruthers, who returns to his family’s Virginia crematory after his father is left comatose in a suspicious hit-and-run. He discovers that his brother’s criminal debts threaten the family and sets out to protect them. James will executive produce with Higher Ground’s team and Amblin executives Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey; Todd Cohen is co-executive producer.
