A Gallup survey commissioned by Microsoft suggests that regular AI use does not equate to confidence in its wider effects. About 68% of Americans who use AI daily said they are worried about it, while 74% of Americans overall reported concern, challenging the idea that adoption straightforwardly reflects public enthusiasm.

The survey covered roughly 1,000 people in each of 37 countries between April and July, with plans to expand to 140 countries. The US was among the most anxious countries: only 36% expected AI to mostly benefit the nation, and just 45% of daily users strongly trusted its results; by contrast, Singapore had the highest daily-use rate at 46%, while over 80% of people aware of AI expected it to improve their lives. Across the countries surveyed, 36% of respondents trusted AI’s results a lot, while curiosity remained the most common overall reaction.
