A sequel to Paul Feig's 2025 hit *The Housemaid* is officially moving forward, with Lionsgate greenlighting *The Housemaid's Secret* for release on 17 December 2027, exactly two years after the original. Sydney Sweeney returns as Millie Calloway and will also serve as executive producer, with Feig back directing from a script by Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first instalment.

The film, based on Freida McFadden's 2023 novel of the same name, sees Millie take a new housekeeping job for a woman she is never permitted to see, uncovering secrets darker than her own. Kirsten Dunst joins the cast as Wendy Garrick, alongside newcomer Paul Anthony Kelly as her billionaire husband and Brittany Snow as Marybeth, while Michele Morrone reprises his role as gardener Enzo; Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar's characters do not return. Production is set to begin this autumn, with McFadden also on board as an executive producer.
