Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group and Warner Music Group joined a $76 million Stability AI funding round, signalling the major labels’ growing financial and strategic interest in generative AI. Beggars Group’s 2025 revenue rose 20% year on year to £134.48 million, while BMG reported first-half 2026 revenue of €444 million, up 4.9%, and expects its merger with Concord to close in the third quarter. Sony Music sued Kroger over at least 392 alleged unlicensed uses of recordings in social-media advertising, and a US judge allowed UMG and Sony to add a claim that AI music company Suno bypassed YouTube’s anti-downloading measures to obtain training material.
