‘Game of Thrones’ Star’s New Horror Thriller Gets First Trailer [Exclusive]
A first trailer has been released for Confinement, a new horror thriller starring Nathalie Emmanuel of Game of Thrones fame, directed by Peter Howitt. The film sees Emmanuel play a grieving, pregnant widow who is drawn into her late husband's family estate, echoing the "trapped by family" premise of her 2022 film The Invitation, and confirming her growing association with the subgenre.
Written by Will Honley and April Maguire, the story follows Emmanuel's character being kept at the family's "summer cottage" until she gives birth, leaving her to question whether her unborn child is cursed or whether she is losing her grip on reality. The trailer, exclusively previewed by Collider, features Claire Forlani as an unsettling mother-in-law figure, unnerving flashback footage of the deceased husband referencing a "baby sister," and a mysterious ritual in which the family determines the baby's gender without revealing the result to her.
