GENE HOGLAN Says New DARK ANGEL Music Will Arrive ‘Before The End Of The Year’: ‘I’m Really Excited’

Gene Hoglan says new Dark Angel music is expected before the end of 2026, though he allows it could arrive a month or two later. He described the news as exciting and said the band is close to announcing more details, as many listeners have yet to discover its latest album.

Dark Angel’s first album in 34 years, *Extinction Level Event*, was released digitally in September 2025. Hoglan and guitarist Laura Christine wrote all of its songs except the title track, which was written earlier by the late guitarist Jim Durkin; Christine joined the band permanently after filling in for him at some shows. The album drew a mixed response, and Hoglan says the forthcoming music could surprise fans familiar with the band’s recent work.
