GI Joe and Paranormal Activity Get New Official Release Dates from Paramount

Paramount has set a release date for Danny McBride’s G.I. Joe reboot and delayed the next Paranormal Activity film. The dates place both films in October 2028, giving audiences a clearer idea of when the projects are expected to reach cinemas.

The G.I. Joe film is scheduled for 20 October 2028 and will mark McBride’s feature directorial debut; he co-wrote the screenplay with John Carcieri and Jeff Fradley. Bradley Cooper has joined the cast as Duke, and the story is described as an action film set in a Cobra-run town called Springfield. Paranormal Activity 8 has moved from 21 May 2027 to 22 October 2028, a delay of about 17 months; Ian Tuason is directing, with Oren Peli, James Wan and Jason Blum producing.
