Actor and TV host Mario Lopez has publicly denied being a supporter of President Donald Trump after being labelled a "MAGA" figure in an online video, in a since-deleted Instagram comment reported by Buzzfeed. The dispute matters because it reflects wider tensions over the political labelling of Latino celebrities, with Lopez insisting he is not political and accusing critics of spreading misinformation.

The video, titled "Exposing Latino MAGA Artists", branded Lopez a Trump supporter based on a past post backing a UFC fight at the White House, his following of Trump-related accounts, and a 2016 interview with Trump. Lopez responded that he had not attended the White House event, said his UFC comments were to support his friend, UFC boss Dana White, and stated he "could care less" about politics. However, his former "Extra" co-host Tanika Ray publicly contradicted him, claiming she could "confirm" he is "Mexican and maga", while suggesting he is "a capitalist first".
