Lanterns co-creator Chris Mundy has said there is “a lot of runway” for a potential second season of the forthcoming DCU series. His comments suggest the creative team sees scope for a continuing story beyond the already announced first season, although no renewal has been confirmed.

Mundy also said he would like to include actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who stars as Simon Williams in Marvel’s Wonder Man, in Lanterns. The HBO series is expected to follow Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart, played by Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre respectively, as part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe.
