Wolverine trailer reveals Lady Deathstrike and Sabretooth ahead of PS5 launch
Developed over time first seen 4 months ago
Insomniac Games has released a further trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, confirming Lady Deathstrike as a villain in the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive and showing Sabretooth fighting alongside Wolverine. The footage also hints at a possible romantic subplot involving Jean Grey, rounding out a growing roster of confirmed X-Men characters as the game's release approaches.
The trailer shows Wolverine battling apparent Hand ninjas before Lady Deathstrike, who like Wolverine has an adamantium skeleton and retractable claw-like fingers, joins the fight, suggesting she may hold some leadership role within the group. Kelly Hu, who played the character in 2003's X2 and last year's Deadpool VR, is expected to reprise the role. Insomniac said the trailer would screen in select US cinemas ahead of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, with Marvel's Wolverine released exclusively on PlayStation 5 on 15 September.

Explained simply
Wolverine is a Marvel superhero best known as a member of the X-Men, a group of people born with unusual abilities known as mutants. He has rapid healing powers, metal claws that extend from his hands and a skeleton reinforced with the fictional metal adamantium.
Lady Deathstrike is one of Wolverine’s long-standing opponents in Marvel stories. She also has an adamantium-enhanced body and claw-like weapons, while Sabretooth is another mutant rival with animal-like strength, heightened senses and a violent history with Wolverine.
Insomniac Games is the studio behind the recent Marvel’s Spider-Man games for PlayStation. The new game is set in Marvel’s X-Men world and is being made only for PlayStation 5, making its character choices significant for fans waiting to see how the studio adapts that wider cast.
