"Masters of the Universe" will begin streaming on Prime Video from 22 July 2026, following a disappointing theatrical run that took just $113 million worldwide against a reported $200 million budget. The live-action film, based on the Mattel toy franchise created in 1982, is only the second such adaptation, coming nearly 40 years after the 1987 Dolph Lundgren version, and its move to streaming so soon after release reflects its underperformance at cinemas.

Directed by Travis Knight from a script by Chris Butler, the film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man alongside Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela and Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms, with a supporting cast including Alison Brie and Morena Baccarin. It opened in North America on 5 June with $29.3 million, debuting at number two behind "Scary Movie", and had previously moved between several studios, including Netflix, Warner Bros. and Sony, before Amazon MGM acquired the rights in 2024.
