Microsoft has unveiled significant upgrades to its dedicated Copilot app, introducing a new tabbed interface and direct Office integration. The update represents the company's continued effort to make Copilot more valuable for both consumers and enterprises, particularly as businesses require assistance with data processing, report generation and presentation creation. Whilst consumer adoption of Copilot has remained limited, enterprise customers represent a more promising market for the platform's capabilities.

The enhanced app introduces three key tabs: a "Home" tab for standard AI conversations with intelligent request routing, a "Code" tab that enables users to create applications, trackers, dashboards and automations through natural language descriptions without requiring programming knowledge, and an "Autopilot" tab that unlocks autonomous capabilities. The Autopilot feature allows Copilot to independently manage recurring tasks and complex processes, such as orchestrating supplier reviews—including scheduling, preparation, meetings and stakeholder communication—entirely without user intervention.
