Notre Dame faces first real test as unbeaten BYU hosts the Fighting Irish in top-10 clash

Unbeaten BYU hosts unbeaten Notre Dame in a top-10 college football game that the article calls Notre Dame’s first serious test of the season. The writer questions Notre Dame’s ranking because its six wins came against unranked opponents, and backs BYU to keep the game close at home.

Notre Dame is ranked second and BYU eighth; the article says BYU has faced a tougher schedule, including TCU and Iowa State. Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr has thrown for 1,378 yards and 16 touchdowns, while BYU’s Bear Bachmeier has 1,033 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns and four rushing scores. The betting total fell from 54.5 to 46.5 points, and the spread opened with Notre Dame favoured by 11.5.
