Parliament bell ringer ordered to sell his £1million London mews home after losing court battle over decision to rip out his banker neighbour’s gate on the day he moved in
Parliament bell ringer Adrian Udal has been ordered to sell his roughly £1 million Fulham home after refusing to pay money owed to neighbours whose mews entrance he demolished. The High Court ruled that the sale could proceed to recover the debt after finding he had made no effort to pay and had indicated he would not do so.
Udal removed a roller gate and door belonging to Nicholas and Lisa Patrick-Hiley in August 2023, when they were moving into their £2 million property. The couple won their legal case, securing £10,000 in compensation and approximately £85,000 in legal costs, with the total debt rising to about £129,500; Udal was also ordered to pay a further £25,000 for the latest hearing. He must hand over possession within 28 days unless he pays the outstanding amount before 2 October.
