Pokémon and Polaroid are collaborating on three new adorable cameras

Engadget · 3 hours ago

Polaroid has teamed up with Pokémon to mark the franchise's 30th anniversary, launching a collection of instant cameras, film and accessories decorated with Pikachu, Sylveon and other characters. The range is largely a cosmetic reworking of Polaroid's existing Go and Now camera lines rather than new hardware, but it broadens the appeal of instant photography to Pokémon fans and shows how brands continue to use nostalgia-driven collaborations to boost sales of everyday gadgets.

The line-up includes two Polaroid Go Generation 3 cameras in Pikachu and Sylveon designs, priced at $100 each, alongside a pokéball-styled Polaroid Now Generation 3 camera for $140, all featuring the improved lenses, flash and focus systems of their third-generation base models. Polaroid is also selling themed instant film packs, priced $23-25, plus accessories such as a pokéball-shaped case, photo album and camera strap, with Pokémon designs even printed on the dark slides. The products go up for preorder on 25 August via Polaroid and the Pokémon Center, with release scheduled for 5 October.
