Police release footage of two men after girl, 13, was raped in ‘awful attack’ as family describe ‘devastating impact’
Police have released CCTV footage of two men suspected of luring a 13-year-old girl into Weavers Fields in Bethnal Green, East London, on 1 August 2024 and sexually assaulting her. Two years after the attack, detectives remain investigating and have renewed their appeal for information to identify the suspects. The girl was approached on Whitechapel Road and persuaded to follow the two men into the park, where the assault occurred. She was later found by a member of the public. Extensive police enquiries have included forensic examination, witness interviews and CCTV review. A £10,000 reward is being offered by Crimestoppers for information leading to arrest and conviction. The victim continues to experience significant distress, feeling unable to be alone and unable to enjoy normal teenage activities.
