Dagmar Midcap leaves CBS Atlanta months after returning to station

Dagmar Midcap has stopped appearing as a meteorologist on CBS Atlanta, less than a year after returning to the city. Her profile has been removed from the station’s website, but neither Midcap nor the station has publicly explained her departure, leaving the circumstances unclear.

Midcap first worked at the Atlanta station in 2008, then left in 2010 after her boyfriend died by suicide. She later spent 12 years at NBC 7 in San Diego before returning to Atlanta in late 2025 to join CBS’s new WUPA-TV news operation. She was last seen on air in May, and it is not known whether she will return to television or focus on conservation work.
