RayNeo is going both minimalist and maximalist with its latest AR smart glasses
RayNeo has unveiled two distinct families of AR smart glasses aimed at very different users: the all-day, minimalist iO Smart Glasses and the bulkier, display-focused GT and GT Max models. The launch reflects a broader trend in the smart glasses market, where manufacturers are still unable to combine subtle everyday design with powerful immersive displays in a single device, forcing companies like RayNeo to offer separate products for separate use cases.
The 33-gram iO Smart Glasses resemble ordinary spectacles but include a small monochrome green display, a quad-microphone array and a bone conduction sensor for voice capture, though notably no speakers or cameras. RayNeo says they can translate 55 languages and 109 accents in near real-time via Timekettle's BabelOS 3.0 software, and offer up to two days of battery life. By contrast, the GT (68 grams) and GT Max (78 grams) are heavier, cinema-style glasses designed for gaming, films and virtual-screen work, projecting displays up to 231 and 307 inches respectively, positioning them against rivals such as Xreal's One Pro.
