Adult Swim has renewed President Curtis, the first full Rick and Morty spin-off, for a second series before its debut. The early renewal signals the network’s confidence in expanding the franchise beyond Rick Sanchez and Morty, placing their political rival Andre Curtis at the centre of new science-fiction stories.

Keith David returns as President Curtis, joined by Stephanie Beatriz as chief of staff Banks and Jim Rash as Special Agent O’Doyle. The programme will follow the team through interdimensional diplomacy, paranormal investigations and other crises, while production on the second series has already begun; the original Rick and Morty is itself commissioned through 2029.
