Robert Palmer estate strikes deal with Primary Wave covering publishing and recording catalogs, plus name, image & likeness rights
Robert Palmer’s estate has partnered with Primary Wave Music on his publishing and recording catalogues, as well as his name, image and likeness rights. The deal gives the estate access to Primary Wave’s marketing and publishing infrastructure, with plans to develop new branding, digital, synchronisation, film and television opportunities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Palmer, who died in 2003 aged 54, released 14 studio albums and three live albums. His best-known songs include “Addicted to Love”, “Simply Irresistible”, “Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)” and “Johnny and Mary”; he won Grammys for the first two, while “Addicted to Love” topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1986. He also fronted The Power Station and collaborated with UB40.
