Zach Braff and Donald Faison have confirmed that their Scrubs rewatch podcast, Fake Doctors, Real Friends, is set to return in a new studio-based format. The pair are reportedly in final negotiations, and the revived podcast will cover the first and second seasons of the new Scrubs revival, giving them a platform to discuss its returning cast and newer generation.

The podcast began during lockdown in March 2020, with Faison initially recording from his wardrobe, and grew into a popular reunion featuring Scrubs cast and crew members including Bill Lawrence, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley. Its appeal came from both the behind-the-scenes insight and the evident real-life friendship between Braff and Faison, while its launch during the COVID-19 pandemic helped it provide audiences with familiarity and companionship.
