Australian boxer Josh Frederiksen dies after skydiving crash landing in Queensland

Josh Frederiksen, a 36-year-old Australian professional boxer, died after a skydiving accident in Queensland on Wednesday. His death has prompted tributes from family and friends, while police prepare a report for the coroner.

The Australian Parachute Federation said Frederiksen’s parachute opened and worked normally, but turbulence near the ground led to a crash landing in the Somerset region. He had completed more than 100 jumps and died in hospital from critical chest, pelvis and abdominal injuries. His boxing record was 13 wins and five losses, and he also worked as a breath coach and retreat facilitator, drawing on his recovery from drug addiction.
