Social meet-ups group lets women try new activities
Soul & Social Club in Sheffield brings women together to try activities and meet new people, aiming to reduce loneliness and isolation. Its monthly diving sessions offer a welcoming, coached setting for beginners and experienced participants, helping members tackle the nerves of trying something unfamiliar.
At a recent session, 30 women jumped from diving boards at Ponds Forge; more than 100 have attended the sessions so far. Founded by 22-year-old medical student Fiona Kwan, the club charges £10 for diving and has also organised golf, pilates, pottery, tennis, glass painting, gymnastics and ballet.
