Variety · 2 hours ago

The Season 29 premiere of “South Park”, renamed “South America” as a parody of Donald Trump’s landmark-renaming initiatives, attracted 4.2 million US viewers across Comedy Central and Paramount+ in its first three days. Although this was broadly in line with the previous season’s 4.3 million viewers, the episode performed significantly better among adults aged 18-49, suggesting the stunt helped strengthen its appeal in a key demographic.

The premiere achieved a 0.97 rating among 18-49s, up 33% from 0.73 for Season 28, while its share rose from 3.96 to 4.77. It was the week’s most-watched non-sports cable programme among that age group and generated 11 million social-media views, one million engagements and 63,000 online mentions—40% more than the previous premiere.

  • “South America” drew 4.2 million viewers in three days.
  • The 18-49 rating rose 33% year on year.
