STAIND’s AARON LEWIS On Upcoming ‘The Space Between The Darkness And The Light’ Album: ‘It’s A Pretty Heavy, Driving Record’
Staind are preparing to release their new album, *The Space Between The Darkness And The Light*, and frontman Aaron Lewis describes it as a heavy, driving record. Its first single, “Ghosts”, came out last month and is the band’s first new music since their 2023 album *Confessions Of The Fallen*.
Lewis said the album’s songs were largely written before the band’s current tour marking the 25th anniversary of *Break The Cycle*, and sees the new work as a continuation of Staind’s musical progression. He described the lyrics as reflecting his ongoing personal struggles and said the album may contain just one slow song or ballad. Staind recorded “Ghosts” with producer Erik Ron; guitarist Mike Mushok said he and Ron assembled its track in a day before Lewis added vocals.
