William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk, will appear at Star Trek's New York Comic-Con panel on 10 October as part of the franchise's 60th anniversary celebration. His involvement marks a significant moment for the long-running science fiction series, which continues to draw considerable fan interest across its various shows and films. The panel will also feature the cast and creators of "Starfleet Academy" Season 2, offering attendees an exclusive preview of the show's next instalment.

The panel runs from 3:15–4:15 pm ET on the Empire Stage and will include "Starfleet Academy" stars Holly Hunter, Sandro Rosta, Bella Shepard, Karim Diané and Robert Picardo, alongside showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau. "Starfleet Academy" Season 2 will be the show's final season, premiering in 2027, and will follow cadets through their second year aboard the USS Athena as they face rivalries, diplomatic challenges and mysterious new developments. Beyond these shows and the upcoming fifth and final season of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," the franchise's future remains uncertain, though Paramount is reportedly interested in developing a new "Star Trek" film.
