Star Trek Team Officially Explains Why the ‘Doctor Who’ Crossover Never Happened
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds co-creator Henry Alonso Myers has confirmed that the series explored a crossover with Doctor Who but did not make it happen. The proposed collaboration would have united two long-running science-fiction franchises, making it a significant prospect for fans, but discussions ultimately led the show in another direction.
Myers said the idea was considered for the Season 4 finale and possibly as a separate spin-off episode, following conversations with the Doctor Who team. Speculation had grown since a joint Star Trek and Doctor Who panel at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, while the franchises have previously crossed over in the 2012 comic Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation. Strange New Worlds is currently airing its fourth season on Paramount+, with a fifth season already filmed.
