The next Elder Scrolls game is officially called Sentinel

Bethesda has named its long-awaited next Elder Scrolls game The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, giving fans their first major update in years. The title points towards Hammerfell, where Sentinel is a major city, and the reveal has also prompted speculation about the game’s setting and story.

The name appeared in a short video showing it emerge from sand, which may hint at the ancient origins of the Elder Scrolls. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma had teased a title with eight letters in August, matching Sentinel. Bethesda has not shared a release date or in-game footage and says more information will take some time; Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier says the game is more than two years away.
