THE PRETTY RECKLESS’s TAYLOR MOMSEN Rules Out Using A.I. For Songwriting: ‘I Just Don’t Understand The Point Of That’

Taylor Momsen, frontwoman of The Pretty Reckless, said she would not use artificial intelligence to write songs, arguing that music-making depends on expressing her own feelings and experiences. In an interview with Lipps Service With Scott Lipps, Momsen said she writes to communicate something personal and questioned what purpose AI would serve in that process. The band recently released a new version of “About You” featuring additional instrumentation and backing vocals from Dave Grohl and Pat Smear; its album “Dear God” came out in June. The article also notes that “When I Wake Up” became the band’s ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, a record for a female-led act.
