‘The Rockford Files’ Starring David Boreanaz Gets Premiere Date, Post-NFL Launch On NBC

NBC will preview its reboot of The Rockford Files on 2 January, straight after its NFL broadcast, before the series begins its regular Thursday slot on 7 January. The post-football launch gives the David Boreanaz-led drama a prominent introduction before it joins the network’s established Thursday crime-drama line-up.

Boreanaz plays James Rockford, a newly released man who returns to Los Angeles to work as a private investigator after serving time for a crime he did not commit. Michaela McManus, Ilfenesh Hadera and Jacki Weaver also star; the show follows Rockford as his cases bring him into conflict with police and organised crime. NBC is also promoting the series with a mock billboard advert and a recorded message voiced by Boreanaz.
